Occasionally, I like to fool myself into thinking that I can write fiction, and non-fiction. Usually, the fiction I write is speculative fiction of some form, but that’s by no means binding (I’m capable of other stuff too.) Non-fiction can be all sorts of stuff.
Fiction
Here is a list (presently containing only one item) of fictional stuff I’ve written and seen fit to publish on this site. All are presented on the linked web page, although they are also available in the PDF format for your convenience.
| Title | Published | Word count | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Arrow of Time [PDF] |
4/2011 | 1700 | A short sci-fi story about a man with terminal cancer being taken to the ends of the Earth (literally.) Submitted for (and won) a competition at Woking College: prize presented by Kate Fox. She later saw it, and liked it—thanks, Kate! |
Word counts are rounded to two significant figures, because I’m obsessive-compulsive like that.
These stories are licensed differently from the rest of this Web site. You are not permitted to reproduce or publish derivative works of these stories without gaining my explicit permission beforehand. Stealing plot elements and/or ideas for your own work, however, is allowed, as that’s what all good writers do anyway!
Non-fiction
Most of the non-fiction I end up writing is in the form of cynical reviews and/or technical articles, unless you count the main contents of this blog.
