[LINK] Surface Pro '64GB' model only has 21GB available out-of-the-box

Marco Arment has a proposal:

Everyone should play by the same rules. A proposal: storage capacities referenced or implied in the names or advertisements for personal computers, tablets, and smartphones should not exceed the amount of space available for end-user installation of third-party applications and data, after enough software has been installed to enable all commonly advertised functionality.

The Surface Pro is theoretically a PC you’re supposed to be able to carry around with you that can replace your existing desktop and laptop. Yet I would have trouble accepting any PC built in the last two years without 100GB storage available or more—how Microsoft can consider this acceptable is frankly a mystery.

They’re opening themselves to another massive backlash here.
